Discover Student Loans

The student loan industry has undergone a significant transition: federal loans now come straight from Uncle Sam. Fusebox worked closely alongside the Discover Student Loan team and their partners to thoroughly understand the program changes, and their key internal processes, both online and off. Discover’s first priority was to encourage responsible borrowing, and to point students in the direction of scholarships, grants, and free financial aid before taking on debt. Fusebox helped them spread the word by transforming the Discover Student Loan site into an easy to use, straightforward destination for anyone seeking student loan information. We worked with their back-end loan origination and processing teams to create a “compare and apply” wizard to seamlessly guide the user through the loan process. The project was rounded out with a marketing program, including banner campaigns and landing pages, to direct more students to the wealth of financial resources Discover offers.

Discover Financial Service has partnered with Fusebox on a wide range of digital initiatives. We collaborate closely with each of their key business units—including Discover Bank, Discover Student Loans, and Discover Home Loans and their partners—on strategic planning, and creative projects and technology implementations.

We apply effective program management principles—working as an extension of the Discover team—to create short and long-term project roadmaps that meet the right requirements, at the right times. Together, we have developed a number of valuable initiatives and powerful service offerings that continue to provide significant return on investment: projects like the SaaS Interest Rate Manager, which allows the entire Discover group to manage their interest rates with a live service, in addition to website design, mobile websites, email management and deployment integration, online marketing campaigns, application development, and social media strategies.

We take a 360-degree approach in everything we do. It's the way we like to work—and the way we work best.
